As a Management Trainee – Sales, you’ll spend 12 months on the frontline—building distribution, driving secondary sales, managing retailers, and executing sales strategies in real markets. It’s intense, chaotic, and far from glamorous, but it’s where real FMCG leaders are made.
The expectations will be relentless, the targets demanding, and the learning curve steep. But here’s the payoff: within a year, you’ll be ready to step up as an Area Sales Manager (ASM)—leading teams, owning territories, and driving growth at scale.

Career Path
Year 1: Intensive learning across field sales, distributor management, and retail execution.
Post 12 Months: Based on performance, promotion to Area Sales Manager (ASM)—leading a team, managing a territory, and driving business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Learn and implement distribution & retail strategies across assigned territories.
- Collaborate with distributors, sales officers, and retailers to strengthen market presence.
- Track and drive secondary sales, visibility, and merchandising initiatives.
- Conduct regular market visits to gather competitive intelligence and consumer insights.
- Execute brand campaigns & product activations to drive demand.
- Maintain accurate reporting using digital sales tools/CRMs.
- Support territory expansion, beat planning, and team coordination.
Desired Candidate Profile
- MBA/PGDM (Sales/Marketing preferred) – Batch 2023/2024/2025
- CAT score 90%+ or equivalent academic rigor
- Willingness to travel extensively and work in field conditions
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills
- High energy, resilience, and ownership mindset to perform in a competitive FMCG environment
